What EduConnectSL is
EduConnectSL is a national education transparency and connection platform. It is a verified register of school needs, a coordination layer between the people who want to help and the schools that need it, and a public record of what was delivered.
A teacher or principal writes down what the school needs in a structured way. The EduConnect team checks it. Donors, alumni groups, companies and NGOs can then see the need, see what is already covered, help directly, and record what they gave with proof.
What it is not
- Not a fundraising platform. We never collect, hold or move money.
- Not a charity that decides who deserves help.
- Not a place for student profiles. Scholarships are school programmes, never named children.
Where we are going
First, a trusted register for the country's government schools. Then reporter confirmation and school claims, a stories desk, and later, with a privacy review first, wider support for universities and villages. The long-term aim is to be the default public reference for educational needs in Sri Lanka.
what we stand for
Six rules we build by.
Transparency first
Every verified need, its coverage and the support recorded against it are public. Every change writes an audit row.
Neutral by design
We do not collect, hold or move money. Donors and schools deal directly; we keep the record.
Fair distribution
Lists put the least covered needs first, so help reaches schools that have had none.
Dignity and privacy
No child names, faces up close, home addresses, identity numbers or bank details. Ever.
Structured data
Needs list items, quantities and estimates, so a partial gift still counts and overlap is visible.
Simple for everyone
Works on a basic phone in a rural school, with Sinhala and Tamil arriving after review.
